It seems a large proportion of visitors to the CLI theme demo can’t resist typing fuck you
at the prompt.
For amusement, here’s a breakdown of fuck you
by language, browser, and OS so far:

Really, what are they expecting the thing to respond with?
Anyway… I’ve updated the theme a ton of times since launching it (the version number is still 1.0 though). It’s still not perfect: I’ve noticed freakiness on some installs with respect to navigating posts with f(irst), n(ext), p(revious), and l(ast); I don’t know where that’s coming from, since it Works For Me on all my WordPress (1.5 – 2.1) and MySQL (3.23, 4.0) versions. Anyone with a hint, let me know. Also, I’m aware of the issues about using left and right cursor keys. Next version, I’ll actually trap keystrokes rather than ruthlessly exploit an invisible text input field.
Further amusement — My top five referrers (not counting RSS readers) since the launch are:
Pretty weird for an English-only site, I’d think. Three of those are Spanish-language, one is Chinese-language, and one is Romanian. Probably over 90% of my traffic is now Chinese and Spanish. I have no explanation for this, why Argentinians and Taiwanese have such a love for the command line. I would have thought it would be more of a hit with nostalgic Californian paleo-nerds, but maybe they don’t use WordPress so much.
So thanks for all the visits, I’ll be working on version 2, and stop saying fuck you
!
I am the CLI guy. I took it back after a year of neglect. Sorry, Fogus.
This site is pretty content-lite, I recommend checking out some of the other blogs out there using CLI2, you can find them using this Google search. Thanks for coming out.
